Stanley

Meet Stanley.

An evidently much loved …
… and much hugged bear.
In fact, loved completely bare.

Only the teeniest, tiniest smidgen of yellow fur remaining …
... in the crease of his left ear …

… to show his original colour …
… and fur status.
Oh! the stories he could tell!

I bought him from the Portscatho Fair at the weekend …
… where I had a stall.
Stanley was bought from Cowboys and Custard …
… whose stall was opposite mine …
… with their vintage toys displayed enticingly in front of me.

Stanley was sat in a trailer …
… passing the time of day with a cloth bunny in red dungarees.

* the bunny in red dungarees *

Stanley’s eyes and threadbareness called beseechingly to me ...
… between the handmade card display …
… and the vintage child's sewing machine …
… until I could no longer resist.

He now sits in a wicker chair enjoying the sunbeams …
... between gently snoozing …
… and gazing out into the garden.
Reminiscing ...
... and settling very nicely into his new life here …
… at the cottage.
(The wound under the plaster healing very nicely thank you)
